"Contain Aspirin: There is a possible association between aspirin and Reye's Syndrome when given to children. Reye's Syndrome is a very rare disease, which can be fatal. For this reason aspirin should not be given to children aged under 16 years, unless on the advice of a doctor. Ingredients: Each Codis 500 tablet contains: Aspirin Ph.Eur. 500mg and Codeine Phosphate Ph.Eur. 8mg, calcium carbonate, maize starch, citric acid anhydrous, talc, sodium lauryl sulphate and saccharin. "
"Adults and children 16 years and over should take 1-2 tablets dissolved in water. The dose may be repeated after 4 hours to a maximum of 8 tablets daily in divided doses. Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. If you need to use this medicine for more than three days at a time, see your doctor or pharmacist or health care professional. Taking codeine regularly for a long time can lead to addiction which might cause you to feel restless and irritable when you stop the tablets. Taking a painkiller for headaches too often or for too long can make them worse. Always read the labelling and package inserts before use."
